Leslie and Kevin met me at Stone Tower Winery last Friday and the weather couldn’t have been more perfect. Honestly, I was thinking… eeeeeek – it’s gonna be hot but in reality it was 75 degrees… pretty much unheard of for a Virginia summer day. Regardless of the weather – we had ONE DAY to make this work! Leslie and Kevin, originally from Northern Virginia, now live in Tampa and were in town for the weekend to get some of their wedding planning done – find the dress, find the bridesmaids dresses, etc. AND on top of that, I was leaving Saturday for California! So the fact that we made it happen even with the clouds rolling in and the anticipation for a rainy evening – was AWESOME. I loved getting to finally meet them in person after only having communication through email and the occasional Facebook stalking session – kidding!

One of the most common statements I hear before any session that I ever shoot is – “I’m just going to tell you… I’m not good at pictures.” and I respond with “well fine, I’m going home…” – KIDDING AGAIN! But for real, I always like to assure them that they can’t “mess up” and they’re going to realize how GOOD they are at pictures once we get going. I always take a few starting pictures to get my lighting right and all that jazz and then show them a few sneaks from behind the camera and most of the time they respond with… “oh… I don’t look that bad!” – win win win!

We started down by the beautiful wooden door then finished up in the vines. I have to say – the lighting was perfect with the cloud coverage and let us shoot anywhere we wanted to! Check out some of my favorites!!
