Mai and Alex – where to begin! Their Showroom DC wedding was a showstopper! Mai, an event planner herself, designed and planned the whole thing! It was fun seeing her vision come to life after hearing about all of the things she had planned when I photographed their engagement photos earlier this year. My favorite part of the whole day, aside from details upon details, were the whole heart, in love emotions that Mai and Alex shared every moment they looked at each other. Right before the first look, I rode down in the elevator with Mai and said… close your eyes, stop and take a deep breath. I always remind my couples to just relax for a second… soak in this moment… and THEN take a step forward. With the madness of a wedding day and people calling your name left and right, it’s easy to go though the motions without really feeling the moment. The first look was such a sweet moment that lasted a few minutes followed by some gorgeous bride and groom portraits on the grand staircase! Afterwards we welcomed the rest of the wedding party for photos before heading over to The Showroom for the ceremony!

Smiles from ear to ear, laughing, crying, laugh-crying… it never gets old to be a witness to two people in love. Mai and Alex tied the knot with a rooftop ceremony! We snagged some portraits on the roof once all of the guests left for cocktail hour – some of my favorites! Mai and Alex had several food stations set up for their reception: tacos, macaroni and cheese bar, Pho, donuts, chicken and waffles… am I missing anything? It was so delicious! The reception was a pink and gold dream with white florals and clear chairs.

Shooting wedding rings on the invite with one of the engagement photos on one side! Cool! Couldn’t get enough of these snazzy shoes! Mother of the Bride and Groom!
So much laughter – I love it! First look with Dad! Next up… first look with Alex!! I love this pictures! They stayed in this position for a few moments and whispered to each other. So glammmm One of my favorite shots! I love the staircase, the train of the dress, and the romance!
Heart eyes all over these flowers, amiright!?
Hahaha – ready for 1 on 1’s! Sisters! Love this shot of the whole crew!Onto The Showroom for their rooftop ceremony! Some curious ring bearers! I loved this bit of the ceremony. The officiant told Mai and Alex to give their parents hugs… and it was precious. Okay, okay… OFFICIALLY MARRIED!!! Stole the bride and groom for “sunset” rooftop pics because… duhhhhh! Didn’t I tell you they were ALWAYS laughing?! The Showroom is a total blank slate for couples who want complete control over their colors and design – which is pretty cool! I can vouch for the fact that these Sugar Shack donuts were deeeliiicious. Yep, that’s a donut cake! I love when couples stay close during the first dance and really enjoy the moment, the song, the words… together. Mai: “I wanna pick it up…”

Sounds good to me!!Congratulations Mai and Alex!!! I hope you’re enjoying your first month as newlyweds! XOXO!
