RACHEL & CHRIS | BELLE HAVEN COUNTRY CLUB | ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA
Rachel and Chris decided to do things a little differently. Instead of one big day, they had two. On June 10th, they eloped in Austin, TX (where they currently live) but decided to have their “after party” celebration with all of their close family and friends back in the DC area! I didn’t meet Rachel until the day before the event but as soon as I did, I knew we clicked! I walked around Belle Haven with Rachel, her mom, and and the wedding coordinator to get the “lay of the land” and couldn’t believe I hadn’t shot at Belle Haven before – it’s beautiful!!
The funny thing about showing up on wedding day was noticing the classic black and white stripes. It was funny because that day I wore a black and white dress that had a section of stripes! We TOTALLY planned it… not!
We started out the evening taking family photos down on the patio – everyone looked sharp!
The family headed to cocktail hour while Rachel, Chris, and I took bride and groom photos.
You look at this photo and notice the focus is off.. but if you look closely, Rachel and Chris had their actual wedding date engraved into their wedding bands!
The light was perfect and these two looked so good and HAPPY!

A quick toast to before we headed inside…
Just as we starting walking back to cocktail hour, Chris noticed a musician from one of his old favorite local bands (Virginia Coalition) and asked to take a picture with him! They chatted for a few minutes and both guys were beaming!
Rachel and Chris headed back to cocktail hour as I captured the reception details!
Shoutout to Dapper DJs and the super cool gramophone! 
Rachel and Chris opted out of the traditional events like – the first dance, etc. instead their guests were invited to join them in their first dance. From that moment on, it was non-stop dancing!!
Chris, his brothers, and cousins and his 96 year old grandmother!
This guy had everyone laughing with his “dance partner”…
We took a moment to cut the cake – gorgoues cake from Fluffy Thoughts – and then got right back to dancing!
