KATIE | 2016 FREEDOM HS SENIOR | DOWNTOWN LEESBURG, VIRGINIA
How can this be? My “little” cousin, Katie, is a SENIOR in high school! Wow, time sure does FLY! Just a few months ago I took her sister, Rachel’s college senior photos! (Remember Rachel’s shoot at JMU?) I can’t believe we’re all this old now!!! It’s been so fun to watch Katie grow up! I’ve had fun over the years watching her play basketball and see her perform at her choir concerts. It’s so nice to have family close by! A few weeks ago, Katie mentioned to me that she wanted to have some of her senior photos taken soon because she was planning on getting a haircut. Katie has had long hair for a LONG while and she finally decided that it was time to cut it but wanted some photos taken before the big chop! On Tuesday evening we ventured down Rt. 15 to explore downtown Leesburg! I had SO much fun with KB! We found some realllllly cool spots! I can’t wait to take more photos in the Fall with her new hair!
I started driving down Rt. 15 and pulled over on the side of the road for this gorgeous light coming through the trees!!
She has one of the prettiest smiles ever!
and then we stumbled on a corn field…
I wish she smiled more… said no one ever. This girl has the biggest smile!
Of course when we got into downtown Leesburg I made Katie take a photo in front of a boxwood (my fave!)

I felt like we transported to an oceanfront town! These blue shutters felt so beachy!
The sun was STREAMING into this ally so of course we stepped inside! Funny story: I walked out of the ally to set up my shot and a man and his wife walked by. They turned around and did a double take. I showed him some of my images to prove to him that I wasn’t insane! Then he said, “I’m just waiting to see if she can really climb that wall.”
There were so many fun spots downtown! This was on a brick wall in a parking lot!

This barn was covered up by a truck when we first got there so on our way back to the parking lot I couldn’t help myself! Happy “late” 4th of July!

I had SUCH A BLAST discovering pretty photo spots in Leesburg with Katie. I can’t wait to see how her senior year pans out and hear about her college plans! Stay tuned for photos in the Fall!
