LIFE TIP #8: A THANK YOU GOES A LONG WAY

Education

March 7, 2016

lifetip8Let me preface this post by saying that I’m not here to scold you but make you aware of a little something… What I want to say is something we all know about but sometimes forget to do…

1

Saying thank you is a FREE and EASY thing to do – when someone holds the door for you at the grocery story or when you drop something and someone returns your favorite Chapstick or when it’s your birthday and you get 239842739523 notifications on Facebook. We typically say THANK YOU when those things happen. BUT sometimes it seems that we take things for granted and assume that we all deserve to have things done for us and we forget that saying thank you can go a long way.

When I was younger, my parents, maybe like most parents, taught me to write thank you cards after I received anything. Maybe this is where my love of stationary happened. I got to go to the store and pick out thank you cards to send – and I loved it.

Whether you send a quick text, an email, a letter, or hire an airplane to write thank you in the sky – the receiver of the thank you is going to feel warm inside. I know I do.

Remember that the next time you’re on the phone with customer service and they do an awesome job or when a friend does something nice for you. We all like to feel appreciated and sometimes we forget to make others feel it too!2

So… THANK YOU to all of those who read my blog! Whoever you are out there, thank you! I don’t necessarily know WHO is reading but I appreciate you! Figure out someone you owe a “thank you” to and send them a note!

xoxo bd
