MORGAN & STEVE | CLASSIC OLD TOWN ALEXANDRIA ENGAGEMENT | VIRGINIA
I was SO excited when I opened my inbox and saw Morgan’s inquiry! Why? Because I shot her sister’s wedding a few years ago! AND even more excited and honored to capture the wedding of another creative. Morgan owns her own business, Morgan Phillips Cakes! Trust me when I say they’re delicious! She baked the cake at her sister’s wedding!
ANYWAYS… Morgan and Steve met in college, recently moved into a new place, and are getting married next May! Steve proposed in Founder’s Park along the waterfront in Old Town Alexandria so it was the perfect place to start their engagement session! Steve told me when we got started that he and Morgan don’t have many pictures together… No problem Steve… I think I took care of that for ya!
I’m not just saying this, but from the second we started they were total naturals. Honestly. Like, check out these first couple shots! Seriously!
When I told them they were doing a good job I caught them giving one another a high five…The same bench where Steve proposed!!!Okay, okay. This is one of the coolest things to happen on a shoot!! I spotted these topiaries with the American flag and the oil lamps… gorgeous. So as we started taking photos a women said “oh sorry, let me get out of your shot!” I assured her she wasn’t in the way and then I asked her if this was her house because… I was in awe of how pretty it was. She said “Yes! This is mine… those oil lamps are actually from the French Quarter in New Orleans, we put them in ourselves. Do you want to see the ivy wall in the back?” YES!!! I blurted it out before I could think! I LOVE ivy! She walked us through her house and onto the back patio! Complete with adorable little boxwood spheres lining the stone patio. (MY FAVE!) We took a few photos out back and then left. It was such a fun little stop!!Steve’s last name is Cameron so we HAD to take a picture under this street sign!
We didn’t get very far… we saw this colorfully painted garage door on the side of the Torpedo Factory and we actually waited in line behind some tourists to get a few shots!
Can’t leave Old Town without a stop on the cobblestone streets! Props to Morgan for walking around in wedges on that uneven surface!Love this one!!The light in this alley is too die for…
Oh, you cuties! The brick, the door, the light, the greenery – Old Town, you never get old.Sweet!
Love how the sun hit the bridge in the background!
The End!
Thank you, Morgan and Steve for choosing me to capture your engagement session AND your wedding next Spring at Brittland Manor! Can’t wait!!
