One of the questions I get a lot is – where do you suggest we take our engagement photos? I have a few suggestions to help you start thinking. Is there a place you guys love to go together? Is there a spot that has special meaning? Where you met? Where you had your first kiss? Where the proposal took place? OR are you up for a new location? I’m totally here to help. My next question is – what type of background are you looking for? a garden? an urban setting? a cute town? What’s your “vibe” – Here are some of my favorite local locations to get some inspiration!
The Jefferson Memorial is one of my FAVORITE locations! I’m obsessed with the monumental columns and views of the tidal basin! TJ proposed to Delaney in front of the Washington Monument but we chose to shoot at the Jefferson Memorial so we could get a great view of the Washington Monument from across the tidal basin. It worked perfectly!
Would you believe there actually were tourists around?! Hardly anyone ever comes over to the side of the Jefferson so we had this area all to ourselves!
The architecture and tree lined steps have me like “hey, what’s up, hello” – gorgeous!
I loved wandering around Georgetown with Carolyn and Matt! The canal makes for a gorgeous backdrop as well as the pretty homes and brick sidewalks. View more of their session by clicking HERE.
Meadowlark in Vienna is a gorgeous spot in the Spring! Lots of flowers, green trees, and different backdrops around the park.
Old Town is one of my favorite “towns” to take photos! I love the cobblestone streets, classic brick houses, and historical feel that shines down every street. There are endless possibilities around every corner!
Alli and Andreas made a mini stay-cation out of their engagement session! Alli planned a night’s stay at the Inn after we took their engagement photos! Perfect date night!
Stone Tower Winery is one of those pretty places with so many different spots to take photos. I feel in love with this gorgeous wooden door and stone wall down by the pond on their property. The barn and old red truck are adorable as well – and you can’t go wrong photos in-between the vines!!
