With the Hurricane threatening wedding days along the east coast for the weekend… this post is coming at a good time! I’ve had this post in my blog queue for a month and a half… and it’s popping up at the perfect time! So here we go…
Life isn’t perfect… wait… did I just ruin it for you? Nahhh. You already knew that. Guess what? Things can go wrong but it’s not the end of the world. Here are some scenarios where you could freak out OR you could remember that it’s all going to be okay.
Remember the day will be okay… even IF…
1. You run a little behind.
Maybe hair and makeup takes longer than expected… it’s honestly normal! Think about your regular life! If you’re 5 minutes behind on something, it’s not the end of the world! The day doesn’t start without you! Let’s not push it… but 10-15 minutes is fine! I’ll help you build in some buffer time into your timeline so you don’t panic!
2. Your dress gets a little dirty.
That’s what happens when you have a train and walk just about anywhere. Don’t stress over it! No one can see the underside of your dress. Even if something does rip or tear or get a little brown – it will be okay.
3. The power goes out.
Candice and Mike lost all the power at their reception! A tree fell into a nearby power line! Yes – it was crazy… but it made their wedding unforgettable! They STILL had an amazing time! It was super romantic with all of the candles around the room!
4. It rains.
You might look at the forecast and it calls for 90% chance of rain. There’s no avoiding it – you have to embrace it! Juliet and Matt had white umbrellas for their first look and a cute clear umbrella for photos that we took later by the water! They made it work!
5. Weather.com is calling for a hurricane.
Literally. It’s not just rain – Hurricane Joaquin was rolling by. Lucky for me, Karoline and Bjorn decided to share a first look! Without that time together we would have had to take all their photos inside because the sky got SUPER dark and it poured outside until later that night when the wedding was over!
Enjoy the beautiful moments and embrace the things that you cannot change. I promise you – the day will go on and it is YOUR day and memorable in its own way! And remember you have a team of wedding day professionals who are going to take care of you!
