I’m going to come right out and say it – WOW! Every single details from this romantic Woodlands wedding had me speechless! I had been looking forward to photographing this wedding all year long. Not only was I going to be traveling to Texas to photograph a wedding but I had already been a part of capturing their proposal and engagement photos and couldn’t wait to witness and capture the happiness of their day. If you remember from my past blogs about Andrew and Rainey, I’ve known Andrew his whole life! His parents and my parents have been friends for over 30 years so naturally my parents (and one of my sisters) were in attendance at the wedding! It was also the first time my family had ever seen me in action – so that was pretty cool!
The words I would use to describe Andrew and Rainey’s day would have to be romantic and elegant – truly a fairytale. I don’t think I’ve seen that many flowers in all my life! I literally couldn’t believe my eyes – you won’t either – keep scrolling!!! Andrew and Rainey and everyone around them smiled all. day. long. As they said I Do’s under an altar of flowers in the stunning Chapel in the Woods, you could feel the excitement and love in the room as soon as they were announced as husband and wife!!
The only request Andrew had all day was saving his first look with Rainey to be when she came down the aisle. So instead, they shared letters with each other around the corner from one another! Such a sweet moment!
The unique thing about this wedding was that I got to be their photographer AND their guest! I photographed everything, with the help of my second shooter Becki, from the getting ready to the parent dances and then I put my camera down, changed into my party dress, and hit the dance floor! It was, honestly, the best of both worlds!! I got to “do my thing” all day and then got to enjoy with my friends! Some people might think I’m crazy… but it worked! (I did a pretty good job of not picking up my camera again … but I may have done it once or twice. I couldn’t have done it without the help of my second shooter who took over for the reception!) I had her snag this one of me with my family!
Shoutout to Becki of Smith House Photo who was on my team all day and night long!
HUGE thank you to Rachel Mabry who coordinated, planned, and helped pull off the most incredible wedding day!
