KATIE & JONOTHAN | IRVINE ESTATE | LEXINGTON, VIRGINIAI’ll be happy to go back to Lexington for a wedding any time… those mountain views at Irvine Estate were gorgeous! Stick around for Katie and Jon’s sunset portraits… oh em gee… but let’s start from the beginning! Katie and I graduated from Hollins University (6 years ago!) and it was really special to photograph her wedding! Hollins weddings hold a special place in my heart for sure!
I started by photographing Katie’s bridal details – her gorgeous shoes!!!, invitation with rings, something borrowed & blue broach, and her gorgeous florals from Country Garden Florist! I loved the hot pinks with the yellow and succulents! Katie’s brother walked her down the aisle and Jonothan had the sweetest reaction!
One of my favorite parts of Katie and Jonothan’s wedding was their ceremony! Their unity ceremony was a little different, they did a river water ceremony where they mixed two rivers into one jar. I thought that was really neat! They also had a friend play the guitar and sing “Future Days” by Pearl Jam which was beautiful to hear.
After the ceremony we took bridal party photos before the bridal squad made their entrance into the reception! Let me tell ya… the reception was a lot of fun! Those boys can D A N C E! Jonothan had some sweet moves as did his friends!

A mama and her boys!

ME: “What’s your name sweet girl?” HER: Hayleigh Paige ME: “like the wedding dress designer?”
What a cutie!

The bridesman steps in!

That bouquet tho… gorgeous!

Totally about to cry! It was so sweet!
Needed some brotherly support!

Mixing the two rivers! The river they grew up on and the river that brought them together.

Golden hour in the mountains!!!!

Then things got crazy!

Last song of the night… Bo Rap!
