A lifetime with BS… the hashtag for Emilie and Brian’s wedding at The Omni Richmond Hotel. Hilarious – just like their personalities and 100% percent accurate. Mr and Mrs Brian Slager (“BS”)… are probably two of the chillest human beings you’ll ever meet! I met Emilie while in college at Hollins University. We became good friends our senior year and became even better friends after college when we realized we lived in the same area! Yay lunch dates and dinner dates at Coastal Flats – (“our spot”)! For a short while, Emilie and I worked at the same company and I remember discussing when she first met Brian… “I met this guy at the the Zac Brown concert this weekend… we’re going to a sports bar tonight…” and literally the rest was history! Brian is one of those people who greets you with a smile and you instantly feel like you’re longtime friends.

Wedding day was a breeze. I walked into the hotel room and was greeted by huge Hollins hugs from all the bridesmaids! This was the first time I photographed a wedding and knew the bride and every single bridesmaid!! Pretty cool! They watched me “do my bdphotos thing” and we just enjoyed getting ready together! Once Emilie was dressed, she was eager to get the ball rolling! She started tearing up even before we left the hotel room… THIS IS IT! Everyone loaded onto the shuttle, including Brian who we shoved in the back and made him close his eyes, and we headed over the the Virginia Capitol building for the first look! #Blessed for a cloudy day – portrait time was GORGEOUS! Get ready for loads of photos!!

The ceremony was short and sweet and I literally had to hold my breath and keep from cryin’ as I watched Emilie and Brian make their vows among family and friends. The rest of the wedding was a dance party! So much fun seeing everyone having such a great time!! I was “off the clock” at nine and joined in on the dancing! At Hollins we have a special chant and of COURSE had to do it for Emilie! (We love you Emilie, oh yes we do!…) It was so much fun to be the photographer for Emilie and Brian’s big day in Richmond!
