The 2017 wedding season ended with a bang at the Atlanta History Center wedding of Sarah and James! From their heartfelt ceremony to gorgeous portraits at the Swan House (#goals) to one heck of a reception with The Moxie Band who brought everyone to the dance floor – it was an epic day! When I asked Sarah which images she was most excited about she said mentioned detail photos, bride and groom portraits and candids of her family and friends. “I am a lover of intentional details in all areas of my life and this day just brings that sentiment full force!” I think that speaks volumes to what Sarah cherishes in her life and it 1000% showed throughout the weekend as I heard speeches at the rehearsal and wedding reception. There’s so much to tell you about that you’ll have to keep reading to uncover all of the details from their day!
Styling Sarah’s bridal details was fun because she incorporated so many special family mementos that she wanted captured with her invitation suite. Lace from her mother and grandmother’s dresses, a beautiful antique silver mirror that belonged her her Great Aunt (her namesake), her grandmother’s rosary, a set of stamps from the National Parks (her family did a lot of traveling to those places!), gorgeous calligraphy save the dates an invitations designed by Emily Kathryn Designs, a pretty watercolor November calendar, grandfather’s handkerchief… and more… I’m telling you – nothing was left out!

Sarah opted for comfy flats from Tieks!
Loving her Kendra Scott earrings!
I loved how this custom design from Emily Kathryn Designs made an appearance throughout the wedding!

Sarah gave James a box of letters she had been writing all her life to her future husband as well as a painting of their dog, Champ, painted by one of the bridesmaids, Elizabeth (who I went to college with!).

Sarah’s bridesmaids gifted her a memory album on the wedding day! Letters and pictures from each girl! SO sweet!

I absolutely LOVE this moment of Karoline placing Sarah’s veil on! Sarah getting to see herself all dressed up for the first time!!!
Lovin’ these monogram cufflinks and handkerchief!

The new Mr and Mrs James Roberts!

The ceremony was filled with readings and songs that were carefully selected. Sarah and James looked in awe the whole time as they were surrounded by their family and friends. I don’t think Sarah stopped smiling once! Sarah is a teacher and invited her class to the ceremony! After the ceremony finished, the kids ran up to give their teacher the biggest hug! So sweet!
Seriously the coolest portrait location! Who else wants to get married at The Swan House!?
“I’ve seen this shot on your blog!”

Bond, James Bond. I mean… Roberts, James Roberts.
Epic!
One of my fave shots!
STAIRCASE, OMG.
I’m sorry… is this a movie?
Dreamyyyyy

MRS ROBERTS! LOOK AT YOU!
LOVEEE!
Fall colors, classy bride & groom, cathedral length veil – amazing!
I kinda like how artsy this one is…
A little behind the scenes of getting the veil shot… but I liked her expression of like… please don’t pull my veil out… k thanks.
When the lace top comes off! It’s party time!

Sarah and James opted for stations and a mix of sit down and high top tables so their guests could meet, mingle, eat, and most importantly, dance!

Family heirloom table!
Full of laughs and tears after listening to Sarah’s parents talk about the kind person she is and how much they love that Sarah and James are married!

I went to college with Elizabeth and Karoline! Elizabeth painted the gift for James and Karoline (Sweet Karoline Events) planned the wedding!!! You might also recognize Karoline as one of my 2015 brides and bridesmaid from another wedding this year! So fun working a wedding with her!
Late night snacks from James and Sarah’s favorite donut shot, DaVinci’s Donuts!
When you’re trying to grab a shot of the bride and groom but this happens… hahaha!
Is it even a wedding reception if they don’t play SHOUT!?
or Sweet Caroline?
That’s a wrap!
