I had the honor of second shooting for my friend & fellow photog, Kir2Ben, back in April for this magical outdoor St. Simon’s Georgia wedding! Musgrove Planation sits next to a marsh underneath trees dripping with Spanish moss… yessss, please. Per usual as a second shooter, I got to hangout with the boys before the wedding. They spent all morning drinking beer, fishing, and cracking jokes. Before it was time to head over to the church, Waite and his dad took the boat out for a little spin… I may or may not have been thinking of the worst case scenario the whole time… *please don’t fall in!* The ceremony was held at the beautiful Wesley Methodist Church in Frederica. I stood on the balcony and captured the bride and her father walking down the aisle while Kir shot from the aisles below. It was really neat to see the wedding from that perspective! Waite may or may not have gotten a little teary eyed! Hugs all around after the bride and groom said “I Do” then I quickly left to go back to Musgrove Plantation to capture the reception before any guests got to it for cocktail hour!
The reception was held underneath a romantic clear tent with twinkle lights strung everywhere! The tables were elegantly decorated with candles, silver dollar eucalyptus, and bright green palm fronds – never seen anything like it before! Her bridal florals popped with fuschia and pink which looked gorgeous against the green and gold details! There were stations set up around the tent with yummy foods like shrimp and grits to a raw bar to the cutest little salad station! After eating, I snuck away with Kir and the bride and groom to capture some romantic bride and groom shots under the Spanish moss! The rest of the evening was spent tearing it up on the dance floor until the sparkler exit!
