HELEN & KYLE | ROCK CREEK PARK ENGAGEMENT| D.C.

Helen and Kyle chose Rock Creek Park for their engagement session because they love to spend their time hiking! I told Kyle that he reminded me of Blake from the Bachelorette… maybe like his brother or his cousin or something – right?! Can’t you see it?! From that comment we started talking about Bachelor Nation, obviously – and I was surprised that they BOTH watch it! haha. We also talked about more than just reality tv… we talked about their proposal! They were visiting Colorado and naturally, were hiking. Kyle was searching for a good spot and eventually they came to a spot around a lake and he popped the question! Helen brought me a copy of her Save The Date which is a drawing of photo they have of them both jumping just after the proposal – how cute is THAT!

For second part of their engagement session we drove to a separate area of the park, walked down a super muddy trail – I hope your Rothy’s didn’t get ruined Helen! We eventually came out onto a bride and the river! On weekends, the road next to the river is closed so we obviously stood in the street for a few shots!! and then climbed down to the rocks – safe… and slippery… but absolutely gorgeous!

THE SUPER CUTE Save the Date! Recreating that Save the Date photo… The one branch with the only orange leaves… haha! On weekends they close this road off to cars – which was obviously amazing for photos! With the season passing us by and the leaves not changing… the only orange trees we could capture were along the road! Included the “Share the Road” sign because Kyle likes to bike! Obsessed with this!

I loved shooting in Rock Creek Park for Helen and Kyle’s engagement session! Can’t wait for their Lincoln’s Cottage wedding next Spring!
