When Chelsea started brainstorming an engagement session location, Forest Hill Park was her first pick! She and Trey spend time walking their dog, Brinkley, around the park there and she thought it would be the perfect spot! We were a little nervous Brinkley might be a little too crazy at the park so we opted to take a few shots at their home instead! After a few “family photos” we hopped in the car and headed to Byrd Park first. I was hoping to snag some photos on the Carillon but it was still under construction. Instead, we shot a few photos in the field next to it and then headed over to Forest Hill Park! I was SO glad Chelsea picked it – it was fun to discover different areas around the park! You know I’m all about exploring and you also know I’m all about shooting in a location that means something to my couples.
Chelsea led me down some gorgeous stone steps and we proceeded to pop some champagne! The cork went really far – the photos of Trey popping the cork off are hilarious… keep scrolling. haha! After a quick outfit switcheroo, we continued down the path to the lake and beyond to this wide open area with rocks and tons of vines… it felt like a jungle!
Before heading home for the night, Chelsea REALLY wanted to see if we could get some shots with the James River Railway bridge in the back. I was a little hesitant at first (during the earlier part of the day) because I was nervous it wouldn’t turn out if the sun was beating on it. We waited until JUST before sunset and it was literally PERFECT!
