TORY & JOHN | A GEORGETOWN PROPOSAL
OMG!!! TORY AND JOHN ARE ENGAGED! This Georgetown proposal went off perfectly – SHE SAID YES! I met John through my sister who went to Virginia Tech and John was the best man in their wedding this past September! John reached out to me a few months ago because he was planning on proposing to his girlfriend in Georgetown! Of course I said DUH, I’ll be there!! We planned the proposal – he scouted out the location, sent me pictures of where he wanted to do it, and we talked about how they were going to be getting dinner just around the corner and he would text me the play by play!
I got to Georgetown early because, with DC on a Friday, who knows what traffic is going to be like! Of course on that Friday, there was rain on and off all day and even tornado alerts – haha! BUT, everything worked out. The rain stopped! Two of Tory’s friends met up with me so they could video the proposal on their phones. We hid in bushes next to this inn and waited for them to walk past before we hopped out of the bushes! As John bent down on one knee, Tory brought her hands to her mouth and started laugh/gasp/omg-ing. It was so cute!!!
After hugs, John pointed over to me and her friends and she ran over for big hugs!!! “BRETT! YOU’RE HERE ALL THE WAY FROM RICHMOND?!” Such a special moment to capture for the two of them! Loved the post-engagement hug photos and FaceTime call with Tory’s parents!! But that wasn’t the only surprise, we walked down to the waterfront and Tory was surprised with a group of friends at Nick’s!
