I had been to Kathleen’s parents house last year for my cousin Rachel’s bridal shower so when Kathleen mentioned Great Falls for her engagement session, I knew it was going to be gorgeous! I pulled up and was totally surprised by the cherry blossom lined drive – oh em gee! Kathleen, Matt, and I wandered around the property along with Kathleen’s sisters and brother – it was a family field trip! haha – they were hilarious! It was fun discovering spots in the yard to take photos and it was even better that we weren’t competing with anyone for cherry blossom shots! The siblings came in handy when I wanted to do a “falling petals” shot. Kathleen’s sister, Erin, jokingly said she’s climb up the tree to shake it, but we opted for the safer “two-feet-on-the-ground-gather-up-petals-with-hands-and-throw” route.
Kathleen and Matt got engaged a few months ago in San Diego on the beach! Per usual, I feel like proposals always go like this:
Guy: “Hey girl, let’s walk this way.”
Girl: “Guy, no. Why are you being weird??? Let’s go over there instead.”
Guy: “Girl, seriously, just really quick… over this way.”
Girl: “Ugh. Why are you being so bossy?”
Guy: “Just come on, two seconds of your time.”
Girl: **eye roll**
Guy and girl continue on romantic walk then Guy proposes. Girl starts crying. Lots of hugging and kissing ensue. Girl is like, “omg I’m sorry I was being annoying earlier.”
This is also basically the story of Matt’s proposal to Kathleen as well PLUS add in the photographer that he hired to capture the moment! Nice job, Matt! Haha!
Kathleen and Matt are tying the knot next May at Salamander! I know it will be one heck of a time! Enjoy my favorites from their Great Falls engagement session!
