JOHN & TORY | MERIDIAN HILL PARK ENGAGEMENT

meridian hill parkJOHN & TORY | MERIDIAN HILL PARK ENGAGEMENT

Before you scroll through this romantic Meridian Hill Park engagement, you might recognize John and Tory from their proposal that I photographed in Georgetown last April! They’re tying the knot this summer at District Winery and I was absolutely so excited to be hired as their wedding photographer! I’ve known them for several years through my sister and brother in law – as they all went to Virginia Tech together! I see John and Tory for tailgates every year for the VT vs UVA game in November and I know the wedding will be a blast!! Excited to also have my sister and brother in law at the wedding! Ready to tear it up on the dance floor!

Meridian Hill Park was such a gorgeous spot for their engagement photos especially with hardly anyone around on a cloudy day. Meridian Hill Park is such a hidden gem in the city with it’s stone steps and water feature – which – I’ve never actually seen working but at least this time there was actually water in the cascading pools. I love how it feels like a secret garden. After the park, we thought about going down to the monuments for some photos but stopped outside Carnegie Institute to use their steps and columns instead! We were running out of daylight AND Carnegie Institute is one of my favorite DC venues… PLUS same classic DC look but- no tourists!

John and Tory – can’t wait for JULY! Keep scrolling for more of this romantic DC engagement session at Meridian Hill Park!

This photo below ended up as their save the date! I love seeing what photos couples choose for their Save The Date!! How neat is that overflowing flower pot!? I love it.  I love Tory’s laugh in this shot!

Dangggg look at that ROCK!  I walked up to the top of the park to get this shot and it’s turned into one of my favorites! I think the perspective is so neat!! I also think the water pools look like a scene from Fern Gully – does ANYONE know what I’m talking about?!

How pretty is Carnegie Institute??!

Can’t wait to hangout with these Hokies in July!
