A CLASSICALLY ELEGANT FREDERICKSBURG WEDDING | JEPSON ALUMNI EXECUTIVE CENTER

 

To say I was excited to shoot this wedding is an understatement. From the minute we started talking wedding details I was SO EXCITED to shoot Karoline and Bjorn’s big day. Not only did everything Karoline envisioned sound beautiful but Karoline and I went to college together (Hollins University) and I felt so honored to be chosen to photograph her wedding!! I even knew four of the bridesmaids! It was a little reunion too! I was equally excited to work with Kat from Dear Sweetheart Events! Kat and Karoline went to high school together! How cool is that? I’d say Karoline has some pretty awesome wedding vendor friends, don’t you think!? The most adorable thing in this whole wedding story is how Karoline and Bjorn met. Karoline is REALLY into baking and she and Bjorn met at a bakery… come on… that is the cutest! They even had cake from the bakery where they met in Georgia as party favors for the guests!!

No detail was forgotten… from the pin and handkerchief from her great grandmother on her bouquet to the top she wore at her rehearsal dinner made from her grandmother’s wedding dress… her big day was classic and elegant and full of sentimental family touches. She had thought of everything, being an event planner herself in Atlanta where she and Bjorn live. I loved her classic elegance and green and gold touches throughout her flowers and the reception space (my favorite colors!) and the pop of blue in the stunning bridesmaids dresses. Kat and the rest of the wedding vendor team did an amazing job!!!

Her wedding day comes and of course there is the threat of Hurricane Joaquin. I think I was thinking about the rain more than she was! All she said was “I trust you”… and you don’t quite know how awesome that feels until your client says that. We had ZERO problems and came out with some of the prettiest portraits ever on the side porch of the venue!!

The ring box was her grandmother’s!I’ve never seen an engagement ring like this! Beautiful marquise style!
Karoline had two gold mini bands to go on either side of her engagement ring.In LOVE with her flowers!

Karoline and Bjorn’s first dance was amazing! They had choreographed the whole thing as their live band performed, “Come and get your love.” It was amazing!Karoline and her dad danced to no other than Sweet Caroline… (bum bum bummmm)Bjorn’s dad busting a move!At Hollins we had a chant we would sing (pretty much all the time) in appreciation for someone or something so of course… We love you Karoline, oh yes we do… broke out!I hopped in the Hollins pic!Bjorn had MOVES!!!The guys of this wedding really got into it!The night ended with a sing-a-long to Don’t Stop Believin’ with plenty of air guitar solos…Congratulations Karoline and Bjorn, I had an absolute BLAST!!!!!!!
