Meet Casey! She’s the badass owner of Stems & Sweets – a floral design company! I popped over to her house to get behind the scenes to see how she works, processes, and brings amazing floral visions to life! When I walked into her apartment, it smelled AMAZING! Roses and roses… and ro- just kidding… I just don’t have the floral lingo so you’ll have to let Casey explain that part! Basically – the entire living space was filled with buckets of flowers and greenery. She explained to me that when the flowers get shipped, they arrive in cardboard boxes full of bunches. The flowers are closed for the most part and you have to set them in water for a few days to open up! The problem child flower of the week were some peonies she got that weren’t opening up at ALL. well. There’s nothing you can do about it.
What I enjoyed the most was seeing her process on how to put the bouquets together. She would make one… observe… then start completely over. She said that it always takes her the longest on the first one because she’s a perfectionist and wants it to look just so. I can SO relate! #Artistprobs
