ALYSSA & JOEL | THE BLACK STALLION OBX WEDDING

My wedding weekend at Alyssa and Joel’s Black Stallion OBX wedding reminded me of why I love shooting weddings so much! I LOVE capturing PEOPLE… people with their favorite people… their friends and family – laughing, crying, cry laughing, dancing, hugging – every emotion in the book! I’ve been lucky enough to know the bride’s family since I was a kid! My dad and her mom went to high school together! I also photographed Alyssa’s twin’s wedding in 2017 and I knew another Navarrette wedding would be a blast!! I also loved getting to meet Joel’s family who traveled all the way from New Zealand! This wedding was filled to the brim with good people, good stories, and even better dance floor moves. Alyssa and Joel were some of the most “go with the flow” people which made “working” their day one of the easiest. All that mattered was that people had fun and enjoyed themselves and as you keep scrolling, you’ll see that no doubt, every one had one heck of a time!

 Digging the greens, blues, and neutral colors in the details!  Honeysuckle Events made a beautiful bouquet! I loved the little blue flowers and all of the textures!  Bridal goddess!! Time for the first look with Joel!  We were told that guests would start arriving in 15 minutes so we sped through these wedding party portraits but we nailed it!!  “Classic bdphotos shot” – thanks to my fans who “know” it!  Sisters!!! This photo makes me so happy! I have shot all 3 of these gals weddings!!! BDphotos bride club!!!  Groomsmen lookin’ good!! Two grooms of mine in this photo! Joel and Adam (far right!)  I love when the boys like having a little fun!    Now that’s one energetic flower girl … The bride’s fam!  Joel’s family!! and again, a very energetic flower girl – gotta love her! Alyssa’s grandfather officiated the wedding and her grandmother was the ring bearer! How sweet!

Mr and Mrs Tracz – a 2017 bdphotos couple!!  The guests started to arrive… SO impressed – Joel built this arch! Joel carved their initials and wedding date into the side of the arch!  Alyssa’s Uncles performed the ceremony music!  The veil went a little rogue… Emotionalllllll    Mr and Mrs THORN! They walked out to “Heaven” by Los Lonely Boys – because Alyssa and Joel met at a Los Lonely Boys concert! I love that little detail of the day!!!  Obsessed with the bistro lights over the pool which got even cooler at night.  This wedding also included a 2018 couple – Megan and Jared who got married in Bethany Beach last June!!  Alyssa’s sisters performed their MOH speech to the tune of “You Outta Know” by Alanis Morissette and it was pretty epic.  The Thorns shared their first dance under a beautiful clear tent. I’m a huge fan of clear tents and lights – once it gets dark it looks like stars!  Shoutout to my favorite wedding guests! These two have hit the dance floor in FOUR of my weddings! I didn’t officially meet them until the 3rd wedding I saw them in! Too funny!  I mean just LOOK at that tent!!!  The party was…. LIT.    Piano Man gets the crowd together and it’s always such a sweet pic! Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Thorn!! Love you guys!

WOW! That was a long blog post but I couldn’t help myself! Alyssa and Joel’s Black Stallion OBX wedding was such a hit! Shoutout to the incredible vendor team for this beautiful wedding!
