2018 WEDDING & ENGAGEMENT WRAP UP

2018 Weddings & Engagement Wrap Up!

Much like my late holiday newsletter, this 2018 wedding and engagement wrap up is equally late. Fashionably? Late? Let’s go with it. Well, TBH, I shot my last wedding of 2018 on December 30th so then I needed to wait until I was finished with it and all that jazz. So anyways – here we are! A quick little blog post with the collection of 2018 weddings and engagements in Virginia, Delaware, South Carolina, Washington D.C., Florida, and Texas!

Kathleen & Matt – Great Falls Engagement session

Kathleen was my cousin’s maid of honor and now I get to photograph her as the bride! I had a great time taking Kathleen and Matt’s engagement photos at Kathleen’s parent’s property!  Meredith & Jeff – Gravelly Point engagement

Meredith and Jeff – two super easy people to work with! I met them for the first time at Gravelly Point and felt like we had already been pals for a while. Even though Meredith isn’t really a Steelers fan, she appeased Jeff for a few photos… view more of their session, here!

Brian & Kelly – Middleburg Wedding

These Hokies tied the knot in Middleburg! After sharing a super sweet first look in the Herb Garden, Brian and Kelly said I Do in a church just down the way after coming back to start the reception off with Enter Sandman to get the dancing started! View their Middleburg wedding, here!

Megan & Jared – Big Chill Beach Club Delaware Wedding

Megan and Jared – where do begin! This was without a doubt the most colorful beach bash wedding I’ve ever photographed! Their story of how they met is one for the books – they met on a PLANE! I loved their Hawaiian themed wedding on the beach and loved the energy of their day even more. View more of their Bethany Beach wedding, here!

Gina & Jeff – Salamander Resort/Quattro Goombas Wedding

Gina and Jeff are high school sweethearts that I’ve known since we were kids! Their outdoor ceremony got rained out but that was the last thing on their minds! I loved photographing Kim and Haley’s engagement session at the beach! We basically had the park to ourselves for most of the evening. The prettiest light and lots of laughs plus photos with their cute dog! View their sandy engagement session, here!

Celia & Matt – Sugarloaf Mountain engagement session

I loved taking photos of Celia and Matt at Sugarloaf Mountain. We started on the gravel road that reminded me of French countryside and ended up at the overlook! Meredith & Jeff – InterContinental Wharf DC wedding

It was the rainiest day ever but honestly it didn’t matter because Meredith and Jeff handled it so well. We still managed to take great portraits outside over the overhang! I stood in the rain under and umbrella to capture the group! Haha – behind the scenes photos on the blog of that… View more of their DC wedding, here!

Maura & Mark – Libby Hill Park Engagement

Miguel and Margarita definitely stole the show in the beginning of this engagement session but we left the dogs at home for the rest of their session up at Libby Hill Park – one of my favorite spots in Richmond for sunset! Erica & Thorne – Stone Tower Winery

So this was my sister’s wedding! All I wanted to do was take TWO portraits of them on their wedding day… and I kept my word! I took two portraits and a few that morning of details as we all got ready and that’s it! It was pretty crazy but I was having SO MUCH FUN as a bridesmaid and I loved that two of my good friends were capturing their day!! Shoutout to Bethanne Arthur Photography who shot the real deal!

Can’t wait for their DC wedding this Spring!

Casey & Ben – Bear’s Den Overlook – Bluemont, VA

I absolutely loved Ben and Casey’s mountain top engagement session at Bear’s Den Overlook! At first we got a little lost (oops) on the way to the overlook ahaha but we finally found it. It DID start to rain for a little bit but luckily it stopped! Ben and Casey also included their dog, Brooks, and wine… so it was an overall awesome engagement session! View their engagement session, here! Can’t wait to see them again this Fall!

Cate & Zac – Leesburg, VA Wedding

Cate and Zac’s wedding was full of so many sentimental details! Beginning with the scrapbook that Zac gave to Cate with included photos and keepsakes throughout their entire relationship! My next favorite thing was Zac’s jacket with his mom’s name embroidered inside because she had passed away. There were SO many sweet, thoughtful moments that you’ll just have to see for yourself. Kari and Pat officially tied the knot in a small ceremony with family and friends at the DC War Memorial on Friday and had their official photos and party on Saturday! Back in October, I photographed a gorgeous styled shoot which I have yet to fully blog (so don’t think you missed it!). I teamed up with Alana Futcher of Chancey Charm and Casey of Stems & Sweets to brainstorm this beautiful “Modern Tuscany” themed shoot! We loved brainstorming this one together and I can’t wait to work with these talented vendors in the future! Keep your eyes peeled for this stunner in a future post!

I loved shooting Maura and Mark’s intimate Maymont Park wedding in Richmond! Remember them from their Libby Hill engagement session?! These two were so chill to work with and had an awesome dinner party at ShagBark after their ceremony. View their Richmond wedding, here!

Chelsea & Trey – Forest Hill Park Richmond engagement

Chelsea and Trey included Forest Hill Park in their engagement session because it’s a spot they love to take their dog, Brinkley, to! B-man stayed home from the park because we didn’t want him to run away but we got some cute ones outside their house! Loved that Chelsea included champagne and glasses Trey’s mom had gifted them as a special touch to their session! Can’t wait for their Richmond wedding this June! View more of their Richmond engagement session, here!

Emily & Heather – Monument Avenue Richmond engagement

Emily and Heather wanted to incorporate their favorite Richmond things – murals AND Monument Avenue! Who can say no to Monument avenue in the Fall? Gorgeous colorful trees that line the road! I’m so pumped I finally got to take photos in front of that super colorful mural, too! View more of their Richmond engagement session, here!

Kim & Haley – Key West Wedding

Without a doubt one of the most fun wedding weekends I’ve ever been apart of! It started with me attending their bachelorette on Thursday, sunset catamaran cruise on Friday, and capturing these two crazy love birds on Saturday under palm trees. Filled with sun, an incredibly fun bunch of people, and so much DANCING! View more of this colorful Key West wedding, here!

Monica & Clinton – Belmont Country Club – Ashburn, VA

This foggy, wintry wedding was so classic and elegant and I’m in love with so many of the images! The fog only enhanced their photos to look more romantic if you ask me! I’m just thankful that Clinton and Monica lasted outside for as long as they did with the freezing December temps and MIST! True champs! View more of their winter wedding, here!

Maddie & Luke – Star Hill Ranch – Austin, TX Wedding

The last wedding of 2018 happened December 30th in Austin, TX! This was one for the books! I felt nothing short of family upon arriving to Maddie and Luke’s wedding weekend. Greeted by bear hugs by both of them and showered with kindness from their family and friends all weekend, it was truly so incredibly special to capture their day. THAT’S a WRAP! Thank you to all of the amazing people I got to work with in 2018! Couples, wedding vendors, friends, families, everyone who let me capture a part of their lives! Year after year, I can’t believe this is what my job is. It fills my life in ways you couldn’t imagine. I’m thankful for the opportunities of creating photos that will last until the end of time. Creating images that create timeless memories that bring excitement and joy and emotion into so many lives! Cheers to 2018 and the beginning of 2019!!!
